This time, about Magnesite! Magnesite gemstone ( aka Brucite rock)  is a magnesium carbonate mineral, belonging to the calcite group. Magnesite is not related to turquoise since magnesite contains no copper and is not a phosphate. Magnesite has the appearance of unglazed portelain, porous. Magnesite porosity and low-lustre make it well suited for enhancement, and because of this, is often dyed to resemble much-pricier turquoise (often dyed blue – blue Howlite or Turquenite to pass of as Turquoise). Magnesite is currently being dyed many different colors including turquoise, pink, purple and orange.

Magnesite is found in much of Europe, Africa, Brazil, China, Korea and the U.S.

Turquoise magnesite is a  relaxing and calming stone and it helps you to make changes in your life. It has a soothing vibration and aids you to live your life in alignment with your hearts needs. Its vibration may help you to  increase your level of self esteem.

Swarovski crystals are not natural crystals found in caves, but are man-made gems manufactured in Austria. In the late 1800’s, Daniel Swarovski (October 24, 1862 – January 23, 1956) discovered         a formula for making beautiful, high quality lead glass crystals. Since then, the Swarovski family has continued the tradition of making the most recognized crystals in the world out of their factory in Wattens, a market community in Austria. They perfected the art of cutting the crystal and developed a polishing technique that gives their crystals a transparent and bright reflective quality to the finished product.

Originally, crystal was produced for chandeliers and later stemware. Artisan realized that the beauty and elegance of crystal could be crafted into jewelry such as pendants and earrings. This was the forefront to the industry today where crystal is used to create exquisite jewelry, and Swarovski jewelry it the leader in the market. Waterford, Baccarat Orrefors, Murano Ravenscroft and Hoya are among the most recognized names in crystal. Fine crystal contains lead oxide; twentyfour percent is the highest it can contain and still ensure the brilliance that has made them sought after all over the world. The artisans of the time experimented by adding lead to the glass to be able to change its characteristics. They were able to produce a silvery item that with careful cutting became beautiful crystal.

Crystal dates back to Mesopotamia. Its intended use was for jewelry, pottery, and decorations. It was in its native state and only the aristocracy of the time.

Green Agate Gold Plated Silver Wire Wrapped Handmade Pendant

Green Agate Gold Plated PendantStatement green agate pendant was wire wrapped in gold plated silver. For more details see here.

Agate is a translucent variety of microcrystalline quartz.  It is used as a semi-precious stone when it is of desirable quality and color.  Agate generally forms by the deposition of silica from ground water in the cavities of igneous rocks. Agate occurs in a wide range of colors which include:  brown, white, red, gray, pink, black and yellow.  The colors are caused by impurities and occur as alternating bands within the agate.  The different colors were produced as ground waters of different compositions seeped into the cavity. Agate has been used as gemstone for thousands of years.  They were some of the earliest stones fashioned by people.

Agate is a stone of strength. It was used by the Ancients on the breastplates of armor to give warriors strength and make them  victorious in battle. Energetically, it is considered to give strength  in both battle and physically. Agate enhances creativity and strengthens the intellect, making it a beneficial stone for both students and artists. It is also known as a good luck stone. Emotionally, agate gives courage, emotional strength,  self-confidence, and dispels fears. It can also lessen feelings of envy by  grounding the emotions. Because of the harmonizing qualities of agate, and its  emotional energies of removing and releasing resentments and bitterness, it is also considered by many to be an excellent stone for helping to  heal and improve relationships.
